HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO SOLVE THE BEHAVIOUR PROBLEM?

A behaviour problem takes time to develop and consequently it will take time to resolve it. Your behaviour or training plan is likely to involve both environmental and behavioural changes that will involve both your animal, you and your family. Hence, although you may begin to see changes quite soon after starting to implement your plan, change will involve the willingness of everyone involved to help your animal to feel safe and secure, to learn alternative responses and to realise that those responses are beneficial to its welfare. So, change will be a team effort and we at Companion Animal Behaviour Referrals will be part of that team, available to support you as you bring about the desired changes. However, the length of time that the animal has been using the problem behaviour and the consistency with which you are able to offer opportunities for behavioural change, will largely dictate the time taken for a successful resolution to the problem.
