About us:

Claire Hargrave is the only Certified Clinical Animal Behaviourist accredited by the Association for the Study of Animal Behaviour (ASAB) working in Wales. She is a member of the Association of Pet Behaviour Counsellors and has been awarded the Post Graduate Diploma in Companion Animal Behaviour Counselling by Southampton University and also holds a diploma in animal behaviour from the Centre of Applied Pet Ethology.

Claire holds an MSc in Animal Behaviour from Southampton University's School of Psychology. She owns Companion Animal Behaviour Referrals, a referral practice initiated to enable veterinary practitioners to referr behaviour cases of all companion animal species to a recognised specialist in which she deals with a wide variety of companionanimal behaviour disorders.  Claire is a regular speaker for veterinary behaviour CPD Courses.

Claire has both practical and post-graduate level academic experience of the ethology, psychology, neurophysiology, pharmacology, legal and welfare issues associated with companion animal behaviour problems and has applied her knowledge while working within the veterinary practice for over 28 years.

 

Jenni Nellist is a pet and equine behaviour counsellor and experienced trainer who assists Claire with behaviour consultations and training at Companion Animal Behavioural Referrals. Jenni holds a BSc (Hons) in Equine Science and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Companion Animal Behaviour Counselling. Jenni also runs equine workshops for horse owners who wish to understand their  horse’s emotional needs.

 

 Jenni has a special interest in the use of positive reinforcement for the training of dogs and horses.
